.KEY MESSAGES...

* High pressure will keep the region dry and mild through next
  weekend, along with occasionally breezy north winds down the
  Colorado River Valley.

&&

.DISCUSSION...through next weekend.

We remain locked in a dry and mild pattern as high pressure
ridging continues to dominate the Western US through next
weekend. The ridge currently overhead will continue to build and
amplify through the week, becoming a rex block pattern with the
center of the ridge over the Great Basin by midweek. This will
foster continued warm temperatures, averaging 10-15 degrees above
daily normals, along with persistent north winds along the
Colorado River Valley. There continues to be hints at a pattern
change around the 9th-10th of February when the ridge breaks down
and West Coast troughing attempts to move in. Ensembles continue
to favor at least some light precipitation potential during this
time, but it remains quite far out yet with a lot of uncertainty
in the details - but its about all there is to look forward to at
the moment.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Winds
will follow typical daily directional patterns with speeds of less
than 7 knots. Mid and high clouds will gradually clear out through
the late morning and afternoon. Bases remain at or above 15kft.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Winds follow typical
daily directional patterns with speeds under 10 knots for most
locations. Northerly winds increase to around 10 knots at KIFP
during the afternoon, falling to less than 10 knots in the evening.
Mid and high clouds continue to stream across the area, decreasing
in coverage through the late morning and afternoon.
